Google Shopping Festival Review

So here is the Day 12-12-12, where Google said you would get discounts like never before on many participating sites.

I logged on to the site at 00:00 AM on December 12th as i write this blog.

The festival just seems to be a ripoff basically. There are discounts offered but you can find better rates in other sites.

Below are few products i reviewed.

1. Amkette EvoTV Full HD SmartTV Multimedia Player with true view webcam.

GOSF offering it at : INR 10,400(26% discount as said) on the amkette website which is a participating site. does this mean i am paying for the webcam also.

BUT you can go to EBAY and buy it for INR 9,889 which is cheaper than the GOSF

 

I did compare lot of other products, either the sites are the same as it is offered daily or there a low margin discount which we get on a daily deals also. Nothing as near to the US black friday sale :). You will get the same rates on other days too.

Founder of Indian National Congress

Allan Octavian Hume, popularly known as A. O. Hume, was a well known political reformer and a civil servant during the rule of British Empire in India. He was also an amateur horticulturalist and ornithologist. Hume was amongst the prominent founders of the Indian National Congress Party, which was a national political party that was later moderated by Mahatma Gandhi to lead the Indian freedom struggle. Allan Octavian Hume was also addressed as the Father of Indian Ornithology, as well as the Pope of Indian Ornithology, by those who found him dogmatic.

Allan Octavian Hume was born on 6 June 1829 at St Mary Cray, Kent County in South East England to father Joseph Hume. He received education at East India Company College in Haileybury and later he studied medicine and surgery at University College Hospital. In the year 1849, A. O. Hume went to India and he joined the Bengal Civil Service at Etawah in the North Western Provinces (now Uttar Pradesh) in the next year. In India, he served as a district officer from the year 1849 to 1867. Later he was appointed as the Head of a Central Department in the year 1867 and served the position until 1870. Hume also acted as the Secretary to the British Government of India from the year 1870 to 1879.

During the Great revolt of 1857, also known as Sepoy Mutiny of 1857, Allan Octavian Hume was involved in various military actions; and as a result of his participation, Hume was created a Companion of the Bath in the year 1860. During the Indian rebellion he took take refuge in Agra fort for around 6 months. He resumed his position in Etawah in January 1858. A. O. Hume formed up an insurgent force of 650 loyal Indian troops and took part in several actions with them. He blamed the ineptness of the British administration for the revolt and followed a policy of mercy and forbearance. During his former service as a District Officer in the Indian Civil Service, Allan Octavian Hume started to introduce free primary education and established Lokmitra, meaning The People`s Friend, which was a local vernacular newspaper.

In the year 1863, he moved for different schools for juvenile offenders instead of imprisonment. A juvenile reformatory was founded near Etawah due to his efforts. Hume also founded free schools in Etawah and also established 181 schools with 5186 students by the year 1857. He was appointed as the Commissioner of Customs for the North West Province in 1867. Later A. O. Hume became attached to the central government as Director General of Agriculture in 1870. In the year 1879, he regressed to provincial government at Allahabad.

Allan Octavian Hume openly criticized the management and administration of Lord Lytton. As a result his superiors were annoyed and tried to limit his authority. Hume published a book on Agricultural Reform in India in the year 1879. Eventually he started to against the British administration and ultimately resigned in the year 1882. The Government of Lord Lytton discharged him from his designation in the Secretariat. In 1882, A. O. Hume retired from the Civil Service. Later in 1883 he wrote an open letter to the alumni and students of the University of Calcutta, requesting them to establish their own national political movement. This led to the first session of the Indian National Congress Party that was conducted in 1885 in Bombay (now Mumbai).

Allan Octavian Hume left British India in the year 1894 and resided in Upper Norwood in London. He died on 31 July 1912at the age of 83. The Indian Postal Department released a commemorative stamp in 1973.

This is a new theory which has come to my knowledge very recently and I thought that I should also share with you all.
 

A few days back my Friends Father- in- law was admitted in a nursing home due to severe chest pain.
 

He had an attack in 1997 and was undergoing normal treatment.
 

Due to the sudden pain just 15 days back we once again got him admitted in a private nursing home at Kandivali, Mumbai.
 

The doctors later suggested for Angiography. We conducted the Angiography at Hinduja Hospital and knew from the reports that he has multiple blockages.
 

The doctor told that he cannot undergo Angioplasty due to several blockages but suggested 'By Pass Surgery'.
 

The same day evening we bought him home since the doctor suggested that his heart is very weak and we can perform the by-pass only after 15 - 20 days.In the mean time we were discussing this issue with our relatives and friends, we got this new information from one of our family friends.
 

There is a new therapy in the market which is known as - Chelation Therapy.
 

According to this therapy any patient who has to undergo by-pass need not undergo the same.
 

The patient is given appx. 18 bottles of blood where in some medicines are injected along with it. The blood cleans the system and removes all the blockages from the heart.
The no. of bottles may increase depending upon the age factor and health of the patient.The cost of the blood per bottle would be appx. Rs.2,500/- The treatment takes of appx. 1 month.

Osho – Mm mm… it can be low, and with a low energy level you will miss many things in life, because many things start happening only when you are on a high energy level. It is as if you go on living in a valley: you cannot see many things. If you go up to the top of the hill there is a greater perspective: you can see many things.

But many people have decided to live at the low energy level for a certain reason. It is more secure, more comfortable, more convenient. The high energy level is dangerous: one is always boiling, exploding, there is insecurity with the high energy level. Yes, there is adventure but insecurity comes in the same package and one never knows what is going to happen. And everything is always in a chaos at the high energy level – beautiful but always in a chaos; nothing is ever settled.

At the low energy level things are settled – one has planned a life and settled; but this is missing life. And everybody has got the same energy quantity. Now it is up to us what to do – whether to bring it to a maximum, or to remain at the minimum. All my meditations are an effort to bring the energy level higher and higher so that one moment you explode. That explosion is felt almost as if one is going insane, and in a way it is insane.

The ordinary sane person will say that you have gone mad, but now you will find for the first time that life has a splendour and a great depth and joy. Dance will come to your feet and a song will come to your heart… but work will be needed. And this is my observation – that many women have settled on the low energy level. Down through the centuries man has forced them to never explode too much. Not even while making love are they allowed to explode, so what to say about other things?

Even while love-making they are supposed to lie down just like a dead body, a corpse. Only a bad woman makes movements while making love. A lady? never! So even love has not been allowed to women. Millions have never known what orgasm is. They just remain at the low energy level – man has forced it on them. It is good for man because a low energy level person remains a slave: she is always obedient, she follows your dictates. A high energy level is rebellious, is disobedient, can be disobedient at least.

So we have cut women from the roots. To make mothers, wives of them, we have taken away all wild joy. Naturally it has affected man too: when the woman is not very happy, not madly happy, the man cannot be happy either. We are bound together, so the man also starts dragging. That’s how the humanity has been dragging.

But you can bring that energy level up high. Next time come and be here for a longer time. It can explode, but you will have to take the risk! And that’s what my fear is – that you don’t want to take any risk, but without risk there is nothing in life. Then it is almost as if we have died already. With risk the door opens. And I can see that the energy is there but you are sitting on top of it.

Joseph Kony is the world’s worst war criminal. In 1987 he took over leadership of an existing rebel group and renamed it the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).

The LRA has earned a reputation for its cruel and brutal tactics. When Joseph Kony found himself running out of fighters, he started abducting children to be soldiers in his army or “wives” for his officers. The LRA is encouraged to rape, mutilate, and kill civilians–often with blunt weapons.

What is the goal of KONY 2012?

Invisible Children has been working for 9 years to end Africa’s longest-running armed conflict. U.S. military advisers are currently deployed in Central Africa on a “time-limited” mission to stop Kony and disarm the LRA. If Kony isn’t captured this year, the window will be gone.

We are taking action to ensure these two things:

1) That Joseph Kony is known as the World’s Worst War Criminal.

2) That the U.S. military advisers support the Ugandan Army until Kony has been captured and the LRA has been completely disarmed. They need to follow through all the way and finish what they have started.

Why are we making Joseph Kony "famous"?

Invisible Children’s KONY 2012 campaign aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice. In this case, notoriety translates to public support. If people know about the crimes that Kony has been committing for 26 years, they will unite to stop him.

Secondly, we want Kony to be famous so that when he is stopped, he will be a visible, concrete example of international justice. Then other war criminals will know that their mass atrocities will not go unnoticed or unpunished.

Many of us focus on being attractive to other people.  Our concern is primarily about what others think of us. If occasionally a small shrill inner voice tells us that we are not all there, we silence it with swift inattention.

Being worthy of oneself is not part of our primary agenda. Being worthy of others is.

From childhood, our caregivers nurture and condition us into seeking their approval. It is as if we move through life, all seven stages of it, with a note-book and pen requesting others to write us a testimonial. It starts with our mom and dad, spreads to family elders, later to teachers and then to every one who matters to us at that point in time.

Attention need is a disease. It robs us of our self-worth. We dance to other people's tunes, because we no longer respect ourselves.  We do not consider our own valuation of ourselves as valuable. Others must testify to good we are, to them, so hat they can manipulate us to fulfill their needs.

There is nothing wrong in helping others fulfill their needs. It's in fact our duty and obligation to help others. But, this duty must start with us. Charity does begin at home. We must ensure that we are full and fulfilled first. Only then can we fulfill others.

When we truly love ourselves, it is not narcissism. It is self-awareness.

In Maslow's hierarchy of needs, we need to fulfill several layers of needs before we can reach the state of fulfilling ourselves. Maslow calls it self-actualization. This is a Western perception.

The Eastern perception reverses Maslow's pyramid. Everything starts with self-actualization. That is our purpose in life. Once we realize ourselves, all our needs are automatically fulfilled. We are left with no needs.

If one studies Maslow's hierarchy of needs carefully against the reality of life, it's easy to see that we never get over even our primary survival needs all through our lives. Each layer of need overlaps the other, despite Maslow's assertion that we cannot ascend his pyramid till we fulfill the needs of each stage.

However, if we start truly loving ourselves to begin with, we invert the pyramid and miraculously all our needs get fulfilled.
